High Cup Nick A deep chasm on the Pennine fellside, this famous nick, a dramatic geological formation.

Step back in time in Blanchland, a beautiful village with a lot of history, visit the Lord Crewe Arms (dogs are allowed).

The Auckland Project is a unique collection of heritage attractions, galleries, gardens and parkland in Bishop Auckland. At its centre is Auckland Palace, one of the best preserved Bishop's Palaces in Europe.

Pick the train from Stanhope is an 18 mile heritage line.
